Professor Don Iverson – a giant but such a humble man

Dear Leigh,

You should have a sense of deep personal pride and satisfaction in what you have accomplished in your continual advocacy for our region’s children.  I am aware of your commitment to the cause of bettering the health of children and ensuring that they all have a chance to reach their potential.  You are generous in your positive comments on the contributions I and others have made but I, and I suspect others, are fully aware that NONE of the achievements would have been realised without your leadership and endless efforts.  The importance of your getting the clubs involved in the initiative cannot be underestimated – their involvement really got the community involved and in a very real sense legitimised the drive to secure funding for the Professor of Paediatrics.  So thank you so very much for making such a difference.  I look forward to working with you on other initiatives that will better the region.
